Graduate Program

This section includes informaton for prospective and current Ph.D. students, as well as alumni. Our department offers a Ph.D in Psychology. We have five different areas of study: Cognitive, Developmental, Neuroscience, Affective Science, and Social Psychology. We do not offer programs in Clinical, Counseling, Industrial, Organizational, or Para Psychology. While we do not offer a terminal Masters degree program, we do have a coterminal Masters program for students accepted and enrolled in our Ph.D. program. Introduction Of Psychology

Psychology as the science of behavior and mental processes. Behavior is generally defined as anything we do, Especially if it can be observed as talking, eating, Swimming,fighting,etc.Psychologists study the behavior of people and animal in variety of settings. On the other hand,they also study mental cognitive processes,which include thinking,dreaming,remembering and problem solving etc.These cognitive activities are usually not directly observable and are often studied through sports provided by human research subjects.Psychologists often study biological and physiological processes that accompany both behavior and mental process for Example, brain wave during dreaming and heart rate during emotion are studied by psychologists. In general terms, we can say that psychologists study what organisms feel and how they think.

In short,we claim scientific status for psychology because it meets two criteria.It has an organized body of knowledge and use of scientific methods.For better understanding of subject matter of physiology,we have to discuss the historical background of modern psychology.
